Clinical Team Leader

Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, we’re looking for a talented full-time Clinical Team Leader to join our team in NSW, QLD, SA or WA.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Clinical Operations, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Line management responsibility for assigned Clinical Research Associates (CRAs);
  • Assist in the recruitment of qualified clinical personnel, including CV review, interviewing, and onboarding;
  • Allocate CRA resources for new projects awarded to Southern Star Research;
  • Support the development of direct reports through training, co-monitoring, and performance reviews;
  • Organise and chair regular CRA meetings to provide company updates, identify training needs, and facilitate communication;
  • Ensure compliance with GCP, SOPs, and company policies via co-monitoring and regular reviews;
  • Develop and maintain tools for standardisation across CRA activities and monitoring;
  • Review and approve non-project timesheets and expenses for direct reports;
  • Review and update company-controlled documents (SOPs, position descriptions) related to CRA activities;
  • Develop strategies to manage key industry issues affecting clinical services;
  • Uphold ethics and quality values of Southern Star Research in all duties; and
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Does this sound like you?

To be successful in the role, we’re looking for candidates with:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working in clinical research in a pharmaceutical company, CRO or other research setting;
  • Prior line management experience is essential;
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills;
  • A solid understanding and knowledge of appropriate therapeutic indications as they relate to the conduct of clinical trials;
  • A sound knowledge and understanding of ICH-GCP;
  • Exposure to a broad range of trials across multiple therapeutic areas;
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in the medical, pharmaceutical or healthcare disciplines (MSc or PhD is highly desirable);
  • Ability to occasionally travel interstate and overseas as required.
