About the role

Reporting to the Director of Biometrics you will be responsible for:

  • Line management of Biostatisticians and Statistical Programmers
  • Provide technical and operational guidance and direction to the Statistics team.
  • Provide technical expertise to clients, and external and internal stakeholders as required.
  • Manage Statistics department project budgets.
  • Implement strategies for the efficient programming and analysis of study data while maintaining a high level of accuracy and presentation of results.
  • Planning and execution of Statistics projects in line with Southern Star Research Standard Operating Procedures and other processes collaborating with clients, internal and external stakeholders.
  • Overseeing input to the statistical sections of protocols including recommendations for study design and sample size calculations.
  • Overseeing the preparation of randomization schedules.
  • Prepare statistical analysis plans.
  • Overseeing the provision of statistical elements to DSMBs and when required serving on DSMBs.
  • Supervising statistical programming and validation of analysis datasets (SDTM and ADaM), tables, listings and figures.
  • Oversee statistical analysis, validation and reporting of study data.
  • Co-ordinate activities outsourced to Statistical consultants.
  • Contribute to Standard Operating Procedure review and development of new procedures and processes.
  • Perform the duties of a Biostatistician and/or Statistical Programmer as required in support of your team.

Does this sound like you?

To be successful in the role, we are looking for individuals with mature experience conducting and interpreting statistical analyses in the clinical trial landscape:

  • A successful track record as a Principal statistician or currently leading a Statistics team within a regulatory clinical trial environment;
  • Ideally a minimum of ten years’ experience as a Biostatistician in a CRO or Pharmaceutical Company;
  • Excellent SAS programming skills;
  • A good working knowledge of ICH-GCP, GCDMP;
  • The ability to work well in a project team, adaptable and flexible;
  • Provide a high level of service to both internal and external customers;
  • High level of written, verbal, interpersonal and engagement skills; and
  • Masters or PhD in Statistics/Biostatistics.
