Volunteering

Fire and Rescue NSW

Several Southern Star Research employees give their time volunteering in the local community by joining one of the local Community Fire Units.  These volunteers are trained and equipped by Fire and Rescue NSW, and give their time to prepare and protect local community properties from fires and ember attack in the event of a bushfire, as well as fire hazard reduction activities, such as property preparation and reducing fire fuel.

Meals on Wheels
Hot or frozen meals are delivered each weekday to people who are unable to cook. These are generally residents of the local community who are elderly or disabled. Southern Star Research employees take time out of their working day to participate in this program.
